Who gets to imagine the future? How can we rethink justice, governance and community in light of climate change? And most importantly, how do we prioritize the innovation & imagination of those most impacted?
The In100Years project seeks to engage with these questions by opening the space for collaborative speculation. We began in Nepal by hosting a climate fiction workshop which later turned into Nepal's first published cli-fi anthology. We then hosted a series of workshops and events where participants had the opportunity to re-imagine the future of Kathmandu, Dhaka and the world. The In100Years Project uses climate fiction writing, creative storytelling, and sci fi as a unique angle to inspire environmental leadership and big-picture thinking.
We're now looking to expand the In100Years Project into an international, sustainable effort. We're planning to host more workshops in both the U.S. and South Asia while designing curricula & engagement projects that can be used by a broader network. We're also helping prior workshop participants and collaborators to facilitate their own events.
We're currently working with Eco.Logic Programs to expand our impact and host workshops in Bangladesh and around the world.
Our collaborators have also included Quixote's Cove Bookshop (Kathmandu), Utopia (Kathmandu), 10 Billion Strong (US/Dhaka), The Asian University for Women (Chattogram, Bangladesh) and others.

Evan is the founder, director and lead facilitator of the in100years project.
Evan first developed a passion for climate futures while growing up in Coastal Maine, one of the most climate vulnerable parts of the U.S. He began engaging in South Asia as a Critical Language Scholar, a U.S. Dept. of State exchange program, in Kolkata, India, in 2018 and 2019. Later, as a 2021-2022 Henry Luce Scholar, Evan lived in Kathmandu while researching climate futures in the hydropower industry, hosting workshops, and studying Nepali.
As a facilitator, Evan is passionate about building a collaborative, global vision of a more just and sustainable future. Driven by a certainty that international, cross-cultural dialogue can be encouraged by literature and storytelling, he began the in100years project while living in Nepal.
Evan holds a B.A. in Human Rights and Written Arts from Bard College. He is also an avid writer, reader and editor, and his work has appeared in The Record, Climate Matters and Mapping Meaning: The Journal. Currently, he is a Fulbright Scholar in India, where he continues to focus on climate storytelling.
